This month it is my turn again to share a Sewpony creation with a stretch fabric. I love knit fabrics especially for children! I had in my stash a very nice foxy lavender knit from Elvelyckan Design that I wanted to turn into a fall/winter dress for Castille. For the pattern I chose the Issie top and dress for the many options this pattern offers. As the design of my fabric is quite big I decided to go for a simple version just with sleeves ruffles. For the ruffles I used the monsoon lavender knit, still from Elvelyckan Design. I made a size 18Mo lengthened by 1,5cm as she will certainly wear it in 2 months or so. I did not modify anything else. I love this pattern: it is really quick to sew for a great result!
As soon as Castille saw the dress she asked to try it on and it was just the right day as the temperature were lower (still quite high with 77°F but it seems fresh in comparison with the 90°F of last week!)
I wanted to have the waist elasticated but my husband like the dress that way so I am still hesitating as she seems really at ease in that comfy dress!
Don’t forget that you can win a Sewpony pattern of your choice by just sharing a Sewpony creation in stretch on Instagram during the whole month of October. And this month you will also win a $40 AUD gift card to spend at Maai Design. For more details check Suzanne’s post from Sewpony on her blog here.
